By design, confidential deal documents uploaded by clients are processed client-side and sent directly to their chosen LLM provider. DealDesk's application server is not in the data path. This means we never hold, process, or store the content of client documents. This is the correct architecture for handling M&A-sensitive materials, and it dramatically reduces the scope of any security audit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Deal Desk store my deal documents?

No. Documents are parsed in your browser and sent directly to your chosen LLM provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.). DealDesk's servers never receive or store document content. Your documents are as protected as your LLM provider's data handling policies — Anthropic and OpenAI both offer zero-data-retention options for API users.

Which LLM providers are supported?

All major providers: Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT-4o, o1), Google Gemini, Mistral, Groq, DeepSeek, and OpenRouter. Provider is auto-detected from your API key prefix. You can switch providers mid-session.

Can I customise the AI roles and deliverables?

Yes, from day one. Every client gets an admin panel to edit role prompts, add or remove deliverable steps, create custom roles specific to their deal strategy, and configure the quick-start chips shown in the UI. On SME and above, custom roles can be shared across the team.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your session data and custom configuration (roles, deliverable settings) are deleted within 30 days of cancellation. Deal documents were never stored, so there is nothing to delete there. On Enterprise plans, data deletion is confirmed in writing with a certificate.
